The Girlfriends Run for the Cure
- October 12, 2014. Registration is now open! This event is run by Northwest Personal Training and is an annual Quarter and Half Marathon in Vancouver, Washington, designed specifically  for women to get together to do something good for themselves and to help support a very important women's cause. Since 2006 the event raised over $237,000. 



Sunriver Marathon for a Cause - August 30-31, 2014

Registration is now open!
The event is put on by Sun River Resort and consists of a marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k and kid's race, in beautiful Sunriver, Oregon. The USATF certified course and Boston qualifier winds through the beautiful high desert landscapes of Sunriver, Caldera Springs and Crosswater. 2013 was the 3rd year of the event and has raised over $30,000.

Row for the Cure
is the rowing and paddling community’s fight against breast cancer. What started as a parade of boats rowing alongside the runners at the Komen Race for the Cure in 1993 has grown into a national series of fundraisers in 30 cities in the United States and in Europe. 2013 was the 20th anniversary of the Portland Row for Cure which has raised over $200,000 for the Oregon & SW Washington affiliate.


Play for a Cure

is an annual softball tournament founded in 2001 by breast cancer survivor Kris Knox to honor her mother, Linda L. Vladyka. The tournament has raised almost $200,000 to date with the funds going directly to research and breast health for women in rural areas. This year the tournament raised $20,000.



The Ladies Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Oregon is part of Komen’s Rally for a Cure golf tournament program. Since 2004 the annual golf tournaments have raised over $100,000 for the Komen Affiliate.



Town & Country donates $50 for every vehicle sold during the month of October. To date, the program has raised over $80,000.





In 2004, Chris King Precision Components launched a limited edition series of pink headsets and hubs in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer research. That first limited edition series of Pretty and Strong was a success and led to the return of the program in 2005 with an expanded line up of products. The pink series has raised over $54,000 for the Komen Affiliate.



Terra Nova Nurseries

has been supporting our Affiliate since 2004 for by donating $0.25 from the sale of each pink Echinacea plant called "Hope." To date, Terra Nova has raised over $26,000.



CoEnergy Propane in Corvallis and Redmond offers their customers the option to donate a portion of their energy bill to Komen. Since 2012 CoEnergy has fundraised over $12,000 for the fight to find a cure.




Serres Garden Center holds an annual Pink Day where gifts are raffled off and customers have the opportunity to donate to Komen. The fundraiser has raised close to $7,500.





Forrest Heights Veterinary Clinic sold gift bags during the month of October. They fundraised over $7,000.


Catalinbread Effects contributed 50% of each limited edition pink guitar pedal sale to Komen during Oct. 2013. Founder, Nicholas Harris was inspired to hold this fundraiser because his grandfather battled breast cancer in the 1980s.

Laughter is the best medicine! Survivor and comedian, Jackie Sturkie raised over $2,700 at Comedy for a Cure in February 2013. She shared her stories of treatment and recovery which was both hysterical and heartwarming.


Centennial Youth Football
In 2012, sixth grader Jake Smith decided he was going to tackle breast cancer. Players on his team get sponsored by friends and family for a specific amount. This year the rest of the league joined in to raise money for breast cancer awareness month.




Premium Outlet's Pink Event is being held October 1-31, 2012 at all Premium Outlet Centers. Shoppers who donate $10 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure during the month of October will receive 25% off a single item at participating stores. This year Woodburn Premium Outlet Center and Columbia Premium Outlet Center are participating.


Wells Fargo customers can now give anywhere from one cent to $299.99 to Komen by simply pushing a button at any of Wells Fargo’s 231 ATMs in Oregon. 





541 Media asked their 53 realty office customers to donate to Komen during the month of October. They encouraged donations through a ½ page ad in their real estate guide.


In September 2013, Logistics Services NW held a golf tournament at Skamania Lodge to benefit Susan G. Komen.Clients and vendors from all across the country came out to play and show their support.
