Komen Survivor Celebration

As the economy continues to decline in 2009, our local Komen Affiliate faces tough budgetary choices.  Although we are strong, we are not immune to these extraordinary financial challenges.  As we plan for 2009-10, we must re-evaluate our organization's priorities and goals.

After resetting priorities, with regret our Affiliate has decided to suspend the annual Komen Survivor Celebration Luncheon originally scheduled for September 12, 2009.  In efforts to best support the Affiliate's first priority of saving lives through the message of early detection and access to breast cancer screening, our limited and uncertain resources will be allocated first and foremost to preserve these life-saving programs.

We do look forward to celebrating survivorship at the 2009 Komen Portland Race for the Cure on September 20, 2009, with an expanded Survivor Tent area to accommodate more survivors and activities the morning of the Race.
