Portland Beavers “Strike Out Breast Cancer” in PGE Park

WHO: The Portland Beavers and Susan G. Komen for the Cure® are teaming up to host “Strike out Breast Cancer” in PGE Park to kickoff the 2007 Race for the
Cure® season.  The first 2,000 fans to arrive at the game will receive a commemorative pink and white visor presented by Health Net.

Amy Troy, KGW TV personality and Komen supporter will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.  Troy will be joined by Race team captain and fundraising activist John Simpson, as well as 2007 Honorary Race Chair, breast cancer survivor and oncology specialist, Dr. Devon Webster. 

WHAT: Portland Beavers vs. Memphis Redbirds

Health Net will donate $25 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for every home strikeout.  This year’s count is up to 377.

There will be a silent auction taking place throughout the game auctioning the players' and coaches' game day jerseys.  Winning bidders will go down on the field following the game to collect their jersey right off the backs of the players and coaches, along with autographs.
