A native Portlander, Devon began working with the Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in January, 2008. A graduate of Lewis & Clark College, Devon majored in Hispanic Studies while minoring in Latin American Studies. Through her college and work experience with the Hispanic community, Devon developed a strong interest in the non-profit sector and sought a career where she would be able to use her Spanish skills while helping others. As Communications Coordinator, Devon serves as the Affiliate Spanish Liaison, working with the Executive Director and Program Managers to support Spanish inclusion activities, representing Komen at partner events and planning activities targeted for the Latino population. Devon serves as the Affiliate's primary contact for Spanish speakers in the community seeking information and resources. In her work at Komen, Devon also maintains and grows the Affiliate's social networking sites, manages the organization's website content, and provides support to the Executive Director and Marketing Communications Manager.
Prior to joining the Komen team, Devon studied in Veracruz, Mexico and lived in Valparaiso, Chile where she continued her university study abroad, and became fluent in the Spanish language. With her husband, Bryce, Devon loves to travel, learn about other cultures, and go camping throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Devon hopes to make a positive impact on the world through being part of Komen's promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
