Devon DowneysmithAdministrative AssistantA native Portlander, Devon began serving with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate, in January 2008. A recent graduate of Lewis & Clark College, Devon majored in Hispanic Studies while minoring in Latin American Studies. Through her college and work experience with the Hispanic community, Devon developed a strong interest in the non-profit sector and sought a career where she would be able to use her Spanish skills while helping others. As Administrative Assistant, Devon provides administrative support to all staff, makes referrals for the Komen Free Screening Program, and provides Spanish-language assistance to the public and Komen staff, among other duties. Prior to joining the Komen team, Devon studied in Veracruz, Mexico and lived in Valparaiso, Chile where she continued her university study abroad, and became fluent in the Spanish language. With her husband, Bryce, Devon loves to travel, learn about other cultures, and go camping throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Devon hopes to make a positive impact on the world through being part of the mission to forever end breast cancer. |
