Oregon born-and-bred, Zach joined the affiliate as the Development Assistant in January 2012. Zach earned his BS in Planning, Public Policy and Management in 2011 from the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he thrived amongst the many outdoor pursuits and strong sense of community that are so prominent in Tracktown USA. During his time at UO, Zach was involved in a number of volunteer student groups and events on campus, including leading UO's Relay For Life event and giving his peers who were affected by cancer a chance to come together, take action, and fight back. Zach's most memorable volunteer experiences while at UO were during his spring breaks when he spent time in Los Angeles and San Francisco working on issues related to urban poverty and HIV/AIDS, for which he is very grateful for the perspective they brought him.

As the Development Assistant with the affiliate, Zach helps keep the internal operations of the development team running smoothly and efficiently. This is an exciting position for Zach because he enjoys being able to assist in acknowledging donors and sponsors for their generous contributions to our mission of ending breast cancer forever. Having lost a role model in his grandmother to breast cancer and felt the disease's effects through many other loved ones and their struggles, Zach is passionate about being a part of finding a cure.

Outside of the working world, Zach is a self-described "typical 22 year old" and enjoys all things movies, fitness, live music, dark chocolate and/or sunshine related. He also thinks everything tastes better with hummus.
