Screening & Regional Educational Network (SCREEN) Grant
The Komen promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. The Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate seeks to ensure that all people, regardless of race, income, geographic location, or insurance status have access to screening, quality breast cancer treatment and support services.Komen Regional Grant- $60,000
The purpose of the Screening & Regional Education Network grant is to provide life-saving educational messages to women throughout the full 39 county service area. The local Affiliate has designated seven regions and five target populations that it will serve with grants up to $60,000 each year for a period of five years. The Affiliate has prioritized the regions and target groups to be implemented over the next five years, as funding is available. The next region to implement the Screening and Education initiative will be the Southern Oregon Region serving Douglas, Josephine, Coos, and Curry Counties.
This grant partnership will be explained in more detail in the grant application documents on the website and at the Grant Training in August of this year. There is a requirement of a Pre-Application which will be due in September 2011. Qualified candidates will be invited to submit a full application by December 2011.
