Jenny's Story

It will be a year in July, 2009 that I was told I had stage two breast cancer. After 30 days of my body rejecting the chemo, I was told I’d have to fight for my life. Despite this, I had no fear – I was full of faith. My children were the ones who got me through the worst parts, never letting me sink into any type of depression. They even “laughed me” through my hair loss. My momma, sister and mother-in-law were of invaluable support as well. For six months I didn’t miss a day of work after having chemotherapy twice a day, three days a week, because of my commitment to my children. I’m proud to say I’ve hit that one year mark. I was too weak to run the race last year, but I will be in it this year! I encourage all women of all ages to get checked!
