Jennifer Heine-Withee

I was diagnosed with breast cancer September 7th, 2007.  Throughout my treatment I have been supported by the ladies in my belly dance troupe, Raks el Sehr.  They have brought me meals, given me hats, helped me shop for a wig, and even did before and after plaster "bust" forms of me when I had my mastectomy.  Here we are dancing at a thank you picnic I and my husband had for all of our friends and family.  We called it our "Celebrate Life Picnic".  Ironically, at the beginning of that year we lost a troupe member to a rare form of bone cancer.  These dear ladies were also there to support our friend in her last days.

Members of the Raks el Sehr belly dancing troupe perform at a “Celebrate Life” thank you picnic given by Jennifer Withee (far right) following her mastectomy and recovery. Members of the group are (from left) Diane, Heidi, Helen, Beth and Jennifer who says, “They supported me all through my treatment. They brought me meals, gave me hats, and helped me shop for a wig.”
