Many thanks to our thousands of volunteers that gave their time, enthusiasm and hard work to our Health Expo, Pink Up! event and Portland and Eugene Race for the Cures! Each individual effort contributed to a dynamic team that worked together providing an outstanding experience to each race participant. The positive attitudes and the spirit of volunteerism was evident and greatly appreciated!

 
Your efforts help us reduce costs and increase our ability to help those in need. 75% of our funds provide grants to local community agencies in Oregon and SW Washington for education, outreach and life saving mammograms and 25% fund research that will discover the cures for breast cancer. Without your help, this would not be possible.

Each year we strive to better meet the needs of our volunteers so please feel free to communicate any feedback that you have that will help us make next year's events in both Portland and Eugene a better experience for you. I also appreciate positive feedback about what worked well. Thank you again for making these events the most successful in the country!

We hope that you will join us again - The Portland Race is planned September 16, 2012, and the Eugene Race will take place later in the fall – TBD!
 
If you haven’t volunteered before for either of the races and would like to be notified next May about volunteer race opportunities, please contact me at lkresse@komenoregon.org. In addition I recruit all year long for groups of 10 we would be happy to reserve a space early for your group!

In addition to our Race Day Volunteers, we have a volunteer Board of Directors and many committed volunteers assisting us in committees, in the office and at other special events and programs.
